Higher education at the global, national and local levels has suffered a significant impact caused by the global pandemic that began in December 2019, bringing enormous challenges to give continuity to academic activities, having to react with maximum speed to adapt to these sudden changes. In this context, a mixed design study was developed that included, in an initial phase, a survey of the experiences that occurred in the specialty of Industrial Engineering in the various academic units of the Argentine Republic, through an information collection instrument aimed at the careers that currently make up the AACINI Network (Argentine Association of Industrial Engineering and Related Careers). After its descriptive quantitative analysis, a second phase of qualitative analysis was continued with interviews with a group of career directors, to complement the study and thus capture the meaning of the experience, seeking to deepen the analysis from the voices of those who experienced it. .
From the results obtained, new trends emerge and the new ways in which the Industrial Engineering career is projected towards future perspectives, how it does it and what vision it has. The objective of this article proposes to describe and analyze the strengths (areas of opportunity) shared by career references and the experiences they have experienced. In such a way that they can be internalized to continue on the path of transformation, performance improvement and adaptability to new contexts that we are still passing through.
